What's your favorite piece of gear and why?

I thought it would be interesting to share our favorite pieces of gear and why we love them so much. It’s always fascinating to hear about the tools that others find indispensable in their creative process.

My favorite piece of gear is the RME Babyface Pro. This compact audio interface has been an absolute game-changer for me. Its pristine sound quality, low-latency performance, and excellent build quality make it a pleasure to use.

What really sets it apart, though, is its included MixFx software and the Digicheck analyzer.

The MixFx software allows for flexible routing and monitoring options, making it easy to set up personalized workflows. The Digicheck analyzer is an incredible tool for keeping an eye on your audio levels, ensuring that your mix is well-balanced and free of any unwanted frequencies or clipping.

So, what’s your favorite piece of gear and why? Share your thoughts below.

My Focusrite Scarlett Solo. The absolute best purchase I ever made. With the Asio driver there is no latency and it preforms very well. With some Mackie Studio monitors it sounds like a professional studio.

I agree, the Focusrite Scarlett range are great. I had one before my Babyface and it never let me down.

Ive got two Scarlett 2i2s and they are rock solid. All of Focusrite’s stuff I’ve used has been superb… and I Include Novation in that too as they are the same company.

I tried the Scarlett solo for about 6 months, but I just wanted 2 in and 2 out to mirror a standard sound card setup. Hence the 2i2s! It allows me to record any audio stream I’m listening to at a professional standard…
